Re: Series Discussion
Anyone notice a F1 car listed in the Mini Challenge?

Re: Series Discussion
I see it too.
It's the third car/driver for Jaguar. IRL, Eddie Irvine was taken sick after first practice for Austria (now Red Bull Ring) and they were allowed to field their test driver, Luciano Burti. The original mod provided three cars for Jaguar to show this.
The conversion process for rFactor mods to GSCE mods defaulted to putting cars in the same group as the minis (when it was first created, the Minis didn't exist). It's an easy fix, and it doesn't affect any of the other cars (you can still connect to the server, but you can't select that car as the server doesn't recognise it).
I've put together a patch if anyone wants to fix it: Burti Fix
Because this is an unofficial patch, I'm not putting this into the "full download" unless it becomes official. This is just so the car shows up in the correct place (but it can't currently be used in the series)

Re: Series Discussion
I had a go on the new Hard tires at Interlagos. I ran a short practice stint on race day to help warm up for the race, and repeated that today on the new tires. Identical ambient conditions and setup. The only difference is the tires.
The variance channel at the top is a running time delta. Above means new is behind old, below means new is ahead. As for the other channels, the coloured lines are new and the black are old.

New had two disadvantages; I didn't adjust my cold pressures for the new temperatures they reach, and I had no practice on them before this stint (hence more inconsistency than usual). But despite both those things, the new tires still finished ahead. Old was a slightly nervous drive, and the new a more stable, steady experience. Faster and easier.
There's more data on what's going on with the tires in that picture, which more or less explains everything (including the stability change). Overall looks positive to me.

Re: Series Discussion
The content that was updated doesn't change anything that we're running in the series, so don't worry about which version your game is running.

Re: Series Discussion
Remember guys, we've got a break week this week to due to a number of drivers who are in this league, taking part in the VEC Istanbul 6 Hours. For anyone that is interested in racing in a field of 40 cars for anything from 6-24 hours, check out Virtual Endurance Championship website for more info. We'll have a couple of our own cars entered under the Doug Henson Racing banner!

Re: Series Discussion
I wish I could take part in that, but I don't really want to buy rFactor 2 :/ Do you guys know any other series running Multiclass on GSCE or rFactor?

Re: Series Discussion
Whilst not actual endurance races, I know raceconnect do a number of multlclass series. Oscar does A LOT of racing there and they get pretty good fields considering they mostly run rF1. How come you don't want to get rF2?

Re: Series Discussion
1. I don't really like the idea to pay 12$ every year to play online and the more important 2nd reason: my parents will not give me their paypal account. If they were to though, I could buy it

Re: Series Discussion
Nicolas, you have the option of buying a lifetime subscription to rF2. It's more expensive initially, but it works out cheaper in the long run.

Re: Series Discussion
Spa 2014 style.. seems like a shame we have to use the modern version with the horrid chicane at the end. Can't we use a historic version circa 2000?

Re: Series Discussion
Unfortunately not. The only version of the old layout has MASSIVE bumps in Eau Rouge and Blanchimont.

Jimmy knows that bump all too well! I would say go and see it on his Youtube channel, but it seems to be missing...steviejb wrote:Unfortunately not. The only version of the old layout has MASSIVE bumps in Eau Rouge and Blanchimont.

It was a low moment
One that made myself and Mills nervous at the this seasons race, when I came out of the pits ahead of him. Where the incident happened in the '97s!

Re: Series Discussion
F1SR 1992 version of Spa seems okay to me. Sure it's a little bumpy in places but the one currently being used is also pretty bumpy.
