Before anyone asks about the mod though, we're HOPING to have it out really soon (next couple of days), but it could be longer depending on how busy people actually are.

Re: Series Discussion
Mod does not allow to add fuel in stops, that will need some fixing.

If there's a space free, yes.

I'll probably be doing the same as last year. Stream then stick it on YouTube.
hopefully we'll get lots of people capturing their races, it's always cool to watch from a different perspective!

Re: Series Discussion
So guys, we have a bit of a conundrum. We would like to enforce use of a single compound through qualifying and the race, as they did back in 2000, but the only way to do this is by using parc fermé. The problem with that is it locks the suspension, tyre pressures and a couple of other bits and pieces between qualifying and the race, no matter what options you put in the rFm or PLR. The positives to this are it makes strategy calls on what compound people race with VERY interesting. Do you qualify and race with the soft, but have more tyre wear and possibly more stops, or do you potentially sacrifice outright pace and grid position for better wear and less pit stops.
Things that are locked because of parc fermé:
Tyre compound
Brake duct
Weight distribution
Gears
Rear wing
Differential
All "Garage 2" options in the setup menu
Alternatively, we just keep everything open and let people run whichever compounds they want.
I'm very interested to see what people think.

Re: Series Discussion
I'm all for authentic 2000 style rules, plus it makes more room for strategy. Though I also see no harm in keeping it as is. A conundrum indeed!

Re: Series Discussion
Authentic only for the tyres
I'm against it personally, hence why we've opened it up for discussion.

Re: Series Discussion
I'm not really familiar with the 2000 rules, so need something clarified If we used 2000 rules, would we be permitted to swap compounds mid race in a pit stop? IE run a hard-soft race?

Re: Series Discussion
April - 2000 rules stated that after first practise (I think) the team could not change the compound of tyre. That means the team would have to qualify and race on the same tyre compound, which made for interesting strategy choices. However, the team could change suspension etc between q and the race. If we restrict tyres, we restrict that aswell.

I vote parc fermé. More strategy, more funnergy and entertainergy.

Re: Series Discussion
Parc Ferme is the way to go IMO, that will also compromise your Q setup, which will be very interesting to see. Do people go for more raw speed in qualy, yet unstable on heavy fuel in the race or vice versa?

Re: Series Discussion
Not sure it makes a huge difference to me - I'm not a setup guru to start with, so any changes I would make would probably be equivalent to spitting in the wind...
That said, I like the strategy that mixed compunds could add, so I probably lean slightly towards open. There are strategies to be tried on both sides though.
Yeah, I'm a big help!
