PARC FERMÉ
For this series we will be running with parc fermé. This is being used to simulate the tyre regulations from the 2000 season. Due to this, you must choose which tyre compound (soft or hard) you want to race on and also qualify on it. You get new tyres every time you escape back to the pits in qualifying and start on new tyres, but you can not change from soft to hard during qualifying or the race. Softs are quicker and come up to temperature faster, but will likely result in a two stop race at most tracks, whereas hards will usually be a one stop, but slower and cooler. With parc fermé, certain things will also be locked in the setup after you've completed a lap in qualifying. They are:
Tyre compound
Brake duct
Weight distribution
Gears
Rear wing
Differential
All "Garage 2" options in the setup menu
SROL F1 2000 MOD
The mod itself has been completely reworked from the original F1 2000 RVR mod. We believe we've created something that is fun to drive while hopefully creating a believeable experience of a 2000 F1 car. We're also hoping that we've created something that will also offer alternative stratagies at different tracks as the season goes on. Feel free to leave feedback in the series discussion thread and we'll be sure to take it in.
A REQUEST FROM MYSELF
I understand there will be people who want to do hundreds and hundreds of laps on the tracks we're actually going to race on, but I would really appreciate it if people would honour the format posted and NOT test offline while the server isn't running the current track. There is obviously no way of enforcing this, so I'm really looking to you guys to go along with it. When the track goes up on the server, by all means, drive as much as you please. When the server isn't running on the next series track, it will run on a number of test tracks for you all to try out setup changes and whatever else. Thank you.
